Congratulations to all the Players and Parents on a Wildly Successful Summer!

PRINCETON, NJ - Traveling near and far through June and July of the summer of 2016, the Blue Star Lacrosse All-Star teams experienced two months of fun, competitive lacrosse that saw multiple tournament championships and an overall successful campaign for all ages. It was the first summer for Blue Star Lacrosse, and the players and parents represented the program with class and sportsmanship all summer. With directors MV Whitlow, Don Green and Bryan Hopper overseeing an outstanding coaching staff of great lacrosse players and great people, every Blue Star team took advantage of their tremendous opportunity to play lacrosse and got better both as individuals and as a team. The high school teams saw tons of exposure to college coaches at all levels and were competitive with some of the nation's top programs, while the youth teams had a blast learning the game the way it is meant to be played. Keep reading for individual recaps of each team's summer!

5/6 Team Finishes with One Title and Countless Memories

The 5th and 6th grade All Star Team played in four tournaments this summer, with all four taking place right near Princeton and New Jersey. The summer was kicked off at NXT Meltdown, where the weather was beautiful and the grass fields were perfect for every game. The team then came together the next weekend for an epic tournament at Trilogy Rider, winning back to back overtime games to take home Blue Star's first ever tournament title (check out the highlight video above)! After barely missing the championship by a tiny goal differential at the Rutgers D1 Experience, the team finished up back in Downingtown, PA with the NXT Cup. Often taking down competition with players a year or two older, the 5/6 Blue Star Team showed tons of promise for the Blue Star program, with absolute #ballers at every position. The future is bright for these youngsters.

7/8 Team Brings Home Title of Their Own

The 7th and 8th grade all star team followed the lead of the 5/6 graders and won their own tournament the next week at the Rutgers D1 Experience. The win was just one of the highlights for a team that came together beautifully as the summer went on due to the hard work of the players and the enthusiasm from the coaching staff. Win or lose, the team was always easy to find at every tournament. Their sideline was constantly erupting from every great play and the parents cheered on their kids with endless excitement. Playing a total of four tournaments, the 7/8 graders even ended up making a trip to Rochester for the Sweetlax Invitational. Overall, this team put on a great example of showing up ready to play every single day, and in the end it payed off.

2019s Convert High School Experience to Summer Success

Many of the players on the 2019 Blue Star squad seeing a lot of playing time at the varsity level of their respective high schools, and there was no doubt that it led to the maturity and resilience this team showed all summer. Highlighted by some amazing wins, this team became fast friends and "had each other's backs" as one player on the team would put it. We are excited to see what the future holds for this talented young group! Congratulations on a fantastic season!

2018s Battle Tested by the Best

With eight players already committed to play college lacrosse, the real storyline for this team was the tenacity they played with all summer. Over the course of several weeks, this team came together to be a true "team" and fought tooth and nail in every game against some of the best teams in the country.  This team was strong at every position this summer, with standouts including Michael Carroll (Bucknell) at attack, Matt Dansecs (Rutgers) at midfield, Stephen Edler (Richmond) at longpole and Miles Thompson (Penn) between the pipes. Competing with top programs at Big 4, Sweetlax, Naptown and NXT Invitational, the 2018s made it a summer to remember by showcasing their teamwork and talent in every game. We are excited to see what this team brings next year as they will be setting the standard for the entire program as the oldest Blue Star squad.

2017s Enjoy Final Summer of Lacrosse

Next summer, the 2017 Blue Star players will be prepping for their freshman years at their respective colleges, so this year they made the most of one final summer playing lacrosse together. The rising seniors were competitive from their first tournament at Big 4 to their final one at the NXT Invitational, showcasing the diverse amount of talent on their roster. Highlighted by an absolute lockdown defense led by Chris Fake (Virginia), Owen Prybylski (Villanova) and Tyler Gallagher (Mt. St. Mary's), this team frustrated every opponent they faced. On the other side of the ball, the offense was highlighted by a number of talented college commits! Congratulations to all of these players on a fantastic final summer lacrosse season and good luck to all with their senior seasons! We couldn't be prouder of the standard they set for the entire program!
