Medford, NJ (May 7th, 2024) - Bluestar Lacrosse is thrilled to introduce Madison Terefenko as the newest addition to our team, taking the helm as the Director of the Women's Lacrosse program at Bluestar. Hailing from Berks County, Pennsylvania, Madison boasts a remarkable lacrosse journey, notably becoming the first female player from Wilson High School to ascend to the Division 1 level.

Madison's accolades speak volumes about her prowess on the field. Her talents earned her a spot on the prestigious 2013 Under Armour All-America team representing Philadelphia and a berth on the Philly Showcase Fab 40 team the same year. Additionally, she clinched Brine National Draw Team honors in 2012 before being named to the Adidas National Draw team in 2011.

During her tenure at the University of Oregon, Madison showcased her defensive midfield skills, enduringly impacting the program. Throughout her four years, she contributed significantly to Oregon's success and garnered all-conference and all-academic distinctions.

​For more than a decade, Maddie has been actively coaching within her community, pouring her passion for lacrosse into nurturing young talents. Her commitment to the sport doesn't stop there; she's also deeply involved in officiating, amassing over 15 years of experience across a broad spectrum of competition levels, spanning from youth leagues to collegiate games.

Maintaining her ties with the refereeing community, Maddie remains deeply knowledgeable about the intricacies of the women's game. This wealth of experience has enriched her coaching, endowing her with a profound understanding of lacrosse dynamics and positioning her as a seasoned and insightful mentor.

Maddie's coaching philosophy fosters a nurturing and empowering environment where athletes can flourish athletically and personally.  She looks forward to creating an environment that empowers excellence and shapes champions. She prioritizes values such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, guiding players to unlock their full potential and achieve their goals with confidence and determination. 

Maddie's career trajectory reflects a diverse and dynamic professional journey. She previously served as the External Global Lead at Enviri, where her responsibilities encompassed press releases, media relations, and brand management on a global scale. Before her tenure at Enviri, Maddie showcased her organizational skills as the Director of Operations for the Lafayette College men's lacrosse team. Preceding her sports management role, she delved into the tech industry at CBT Nuggets.

Maddie's varied experiences have equipped her with a versatile skill set and a holistic understanding of different industries, making her a valuable asset in any professional environment.

Maddie's family is deeply rooted in the lacrosse community. Her brother's achievements, including being a member of the USA Men's National team and competing in the PLL and the NLL, showcase their family's dedication to the game. Maddie's mother is also involved as a collegiate official, further solidifying their connection to the sport. 

Beyond lacrosse, Maddie resides in Philadelphia and finds joy in various pursuits, including soaking up the sun at the beach, exploring new destinations through travel, honing her culinary skills in the kitchen, and staying active with invigorating workouts.
