All-Star Fall Ball Kicked-Off the 2019-20 Season for our Blue Star All-Stars!!

All Smiles for the start of the 2019-20 blue star year!!

Perfect weather dawned on The Hun School, and contributed to what was an outstanding day for all of our all-stars!! There were many new familiar faces and many new faces out there - new teammates and new friendships were formed right from the beginning. Over the next four hours, players and coaches had a blast getting better and learning!!

All-Star Fall Ball is one of our best tools for player development over the span of the calendar year. It is a time where we can focus on the teaching of fundamentals and advanced individual skills in a laid back environment. There is a heavy emphasis on position-specific training at this time of year.

The fall ball is the perfect combination of instruction and letting the boys play!

At the end of each session, we have our small-sided games which put players in a confined space. The non-traditional format forces players to make quick decisions and learn on-ball and off-ball concepts that they may not be exposed too as often in the 10v10 setting. The best part about these games is that they are fast and fun. Players are always close to the ball which keeps them active and engaged at all times. This format also allows players the freedom to be highly creative and try new things on the field.

In the early fall, we want our players to have their sticks in their hands, but we also want them to play other sports. With just two hours of instruction and gameplay we can both teach and let them play every week!

This format helps all of our players grow and continue their development. It is great for the youth and middle school players because it allows us time to teach individual skills and creative play that we do not normally have the ability to when in the team environment.

For our high school players, this is the perfect preparation for fall recruiting events. The early session teaching and reps will help our players stay at the top of their game and the opportunity for gameplay allows players to to compete against high level talent before they step on the field in November.

"The fall is great because we can really focus on the individual player and the skills that they need to master to improve and continue on their path. The vibe this week was outstanding. Watching the players develop over time is the most rewarding part of coaching and it is apparent that our players are taking huge steps forward. It is our core mission to be the Leader in Lacrosse Development and All-Star Fall Ball is an amazing tool for it!" - Coach Green
