Blue Star Girls South Lacrosse Coaches

Caroline Mckenna

Caroline McKenna is one of the head coaches at Blue Star Girls Lacrosse. A South Jersey native, Caroline was a Lenape graduate in 2018. During her time at Lenape, Mckenna was a standout defender. Caroline was named a Senior Captain and won the SJ Group 4 Championship in 2015. During her time at Lenape, she also earned her 100th caused turnover. 

Caroline then continued her lacrosse career at Salisbury University, graduating in 2022. A highly decorated lacrosse player at Salisbury, Caroline became a National Champion in 2021. She was also named to the IWLCA Second-Team All-Region & All-C2C First-Team. During McKenna's senior campaign, she was named an IWLCA First-Team All-American. She also earned several other impressive awards:

2022 Awards: •IWLCA First-Team All-American •USA Lacrosse Magazine Second-Team All-American •IWLCA First-Team All-Region •C2C Defensive Player of the Year •All-C2C First Team •First-Team All-ECAC •C2C Tournament MVP •Three-time C2C Defensive Player of the Week •IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week.

Currently, McKenna teaches at Princeton Day School &  is the Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach and Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach. 

 

Erin Donoghue

Erin Donoghue comes to Blue Star Lacrosse with an amazing lacrosse resume. A South Jersey Native, Erin is a 2017 graduate of Lenape High School. 

While at Lenape, Erin played midfield and served as team captain during her senior season. She played in and won two South Jersey Group 4 Sectional Championships, played in two Group 4 State Championships, and even won the Group 4 State Championship during her freshman season in 2015. She also played in the Group 4 New Jersey Tournament of Champions in 2015.

During her career with Lenape Lacrosse, Erin recivied many honors:

•All South Jersey honorable mention 2015 •First Team All South Jersey 2016 •First Team All Olympic Conference 2016 & 2017 •First Team All County 2016 & 2017 •All South Jersey Midfielder of The Year 2016 & 2017  •U.S Lacrosse All American 2017

Following her successful high school career, Erin played Division 1 Lacrosse at George Mason University. Erin's talent was recognized immediately as a Freshman at George Mason. She was awarded Atlantic10 Rookie of Year, Atlantic10 All-Rookie Team, and Atlantic10 First Team All-Conference.

Her success continued to her Sophomore & Junior seasons, where she earned  Atlantic10 First Team All-Conference and VASID-Second Team All-State honors. Her junior year was cut short due to the covid pandemic, but she still left her mark. She earned Atlantic10 All-Preseason team honors and finished the first half of her junior season second on the team in goals and points.

During her senior campaign, she served as a Team Captain and was awarded Atlantic10 Second Team All-Conference. She finished her collegiate career with 115 goals, 224 draw controls, 92 ground balls and 40 caused turnovers. Erin was not only talented on teh field, but in the classroom as well. Academically, Erin was awarded Atlantic10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, was a Peter Sterns Provost Scholar in 2020 and 2021, and was a member of George Mason University College of Health and Human Services Dean's List in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Erin is thrilled to be joining the BlueStar coaching staff.  She is passionate about lacrosse and coaching our next generation of young female athletes. She aims to use her love for the game to help our girls develop into great lacrosse players and even better people.

Erin is currently finishing up her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Drexel University. She is expected to graduate in March 2024. 



Niki LaRosa

Niki LaRosa is an experienced youth lacrosse coach and Blue Star is lucky to have her leading the next generation! Niki is a Medford native and graduated from Shawnee High School in 2014. Niki was also involved with the Sitaras Travel Lacrosse Team during her high school career. 

Niki has been coaching Medford Girls Lacrosse for 4 years and BlueStar Girls Lacrosse for the past 2 years.  Niki's success is made obvious by her Medford Youth teams being undefeated for the last two years, and Blue Star Girls teams being ranked as one of the top 25 teams in the country.

Niki's passion for coaching stems from watching her players' skills and confidence develop throughout the years. Her goal is to help girls not only better understand the game of lacrosse but also understand how to be great teammates and work together as a group! 

When Niki is not coaching lacrosse, she works as a project manager of Clinical Oncology at a pharmaceutical company. 

 

 


Bella Evans

Bella Evans joins the Blue Star staff as a graduate of Cherokee High School & Sacred Heart University. During her high school career at Cherokee High School, Bella was named a captain during her senior season.  Not only was she recognized by her team for her talent and leadership - Bella earned 2nd team All-Conference honors as well as the Jackie Pitts Award. 

Bella continued her lacrosse career at Sacred Heart University playing defense for the Pioneers. During her junior & senior seasons, she received IWLCA Academic Honors for her efforts on and off the field. Bella started her coaching career during college at All American Aim. She also entered the rec lacrosse scene coaching Marlton Rec Lacrosse in 2023. 

We are excited to welcome Bella to the Blue Star Lacrosse staff to develop young girls' lacrosse skills & confidence on & off the field. Bella is currently a student at Drexel University working towards her doctorate in Physical Therapy.  She is set to graduate in 2025!
