Blue Star Girls Vision
 

The Blue Star Girls Lacrosse Program is dedicated to teaching young girls the great game of lacrosse in a fun, safe, and positive environment.  We believe in helping girls learn about their amazing abilities and capabilities both on and off the field.  Lacrosse provides an ideal opportunity to discover the pride in being an athlete, to grow in confidence, and to develop an understanding of dedication and teamwork.  Blue Star wants girls to have fun playing the game while making great friendships and lasting memories.

Coaching Philosophy
 

We believe that coaches are teachers, mentors, partners, and friends.  We want all girls that become a part of the Blue Star family to know that their coaches are there to help them grow into strong lacrosse players and confident young women.  We want all girls to feel successful while enjoying the true spirit of lacrosse.  

Beginners will be introduced to true lacrosse fundamentals in sound but creative ways.  They will learn about stickhandling, scooping and cradling, passing and catching, and shooting.  As they advance they will learn about body positioning and basic team concepts.  They will also be introduced to the rules of the game through small group play.

Intermediate players will be able to learn techniques for honing their skills, which include using both hands, draw techniques, and playing different positions.  Team play will become more advanced, allowing girls to develop a basic understanding of game strategies.
